As a freelance journalist, I write and broadcast for a number of different publications. I love telling stories and investigating subjects, then fitting them into the right niche. I’ve made radio packages about Rewilding Scotland, interviewed the man who invented the hashtag and explained in detail Scotland’s export strategy for space and satellite.

I present a personal finance show on BBC Radio Scotland called “Clever About Cash” and I contribute to a number of different programmes across the BBC network.

Freelance Life

After my post-graduate diploma in Journalism in Studies in 2005, I worked for a publishing company. I moved from reporter to sub editor to editor, working on a variety of titles like Scottish Licensed Trade News, The Scottish Grocer, Packaging Scotland, OS Magazine, Homes and Interiors Scotland and Best Scottish Weddings (now Tie the Knot Scotland).

In 2010 I left to set up Impact Online and I have been freelancing ever since. I’ve written for The Big Issue and reported for Real Radio News (now Global Newsroom) and Sports Weekly (a former sports show on the BBC with John Beattie).

I’m always pitching stories, working on stories and listening to ideas for stories. Please get in touch if you have a tip or if you need writers.
