I got a full night’s sleep last night.
If you’re a parent, or an insomniac, you’ll appreciate the difference this has made to my world. (I think my two boys forgot to coordinate before bedtime and each thought it was the other’s turn.)
It is the first day of a new month, the first day of the second half of the year – and one of my best friends had a much-longed-for baby in the early hours. All in all, it seems an auspicious day.
July has always been my planning month. It’s generally a bit quieter because everyone’s either on holiday or wishing they were. The Spanish ‘mañana mañana’ attitude seems to affect us all as far as allocating budgets and making decisions are concerned.
In my first few years in business July always worried me, but now I relish the extra time to have lots of business lunches, coffee meetings and hours with my hard drive, sorting, deleting, transferring and backing up.
My life is generally so frenetic that I think July is good for me. It’s always beneficial to take a step back from your business, analyse your successes, reassess the market and make an updated plan.
I feel like today I am in the perfect frame of mind to start all this.
What are you up to this July?
